It seems like there will always be quirks with using the cell app for GPS tagging, and Photo Mechanic makes GPS tagging very easy and fast to do manually. Using the cell app might be better for long hikes in the woods, but for normal urban photos, I find manual tagging in PM to be fast. I like to get GPS tagging out of the way before I do any.
